Cost $0

Remember those old credit card commercials where they always had a list like...

Bouquet of flowers, $75: New dress, $100: Limousine rental, $250: Dinner at a fancy restaurant, $125: Surprising your wife with a night on the town, Priceless.

Well, this is my version of that commercial except the cost is $0 and the fun was priceless! Like many of you probably did, we had a little Memorial Day get together this past weekend with some friends and we had to throw together a quick tablescape to go with the red, white, and blue theme.

Literally this cost $0. Well, I guess at some point I did have to spend some money buying these things, but it cost me nothing this weekend. You can see it's super simple and it was really quick to put together, but sometimes that's what you need. I spent the last few days finishing up school, working like crazy on the kids rooms, shopping, cooking, cleaning the house, and now we have a pool and deck project going on (which I hope to show you all soon!), so I had about 5 minutes to pull something together.

We had all the paper products on hand already (thank you Sam's club!) and the napkins were left over from last year's 4th of July celebration. We had the tablecloth from camping and the table runner is just a piece of extra fabric that we folded over the raw edges. The candlesticks were already on the table and the roses I clipped from my flower garden in the front of the house. Done! Super easy and quick! It was still pretty and festive and helped me quickly move on to the cooking!

We had tons of fun hanging out around this table and eating ourselves sick. That's how we roll at this house, there's so much food, you eat until you're so full you can't move, and then you eat some more! (And extra bonus! We will be eating leftovers for days so I don't have to cook!) The weather was beautiful and the kids swam and played outside so much that my house stayed mostly clean. I love it! We ended the evening with a campfire and s'mores, yummy!

Hope you all had a great weekend too! We were all definitely feeling so blessed this weekend that we get to live this wonderful life thanks to all the men and women that have given their lives for our country and for Jesus who gave His life for us all. Love ya!

Take care! Maria
